Originally the Church of St. John the Baptist, this is now one of the oldest sights in Uherský Brod. The first records date back to the 13th century. At the time of the construction of the new parish Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary the church was consecrated in 1784 and used as a store for munitions, grain or fire-fighting equipment. In 1898 one of its side naves housed the municipal museum. It started to be used by the Czechoslovak Hussite Church in 1920, which still administers it to this day. It currently houses an archaeological exhibition in the form of a glass floor, where one can see the remains of the original 13th-century Gothic church.
This church contains the very oldest pictorial monument of Uherský Brod. Rare frescoes were uncovered here, dating back to the 14th and 15th century.
