Parish Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary
- Masarykovo nám. 68, 688 01 Uherský Brod
The Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary on Masarykovo náměstí is an outstanding example of Baroque architecture. It was built according to plans drawn up by the Italian architect Domenico Martinelli in 1717–1733. The church’s outer appearance was further enhanced in 1879–1881 with the addition of the tower, designed by the Archbishop's architect Gustav Meretta.
The church interior contains a total of seven altars made from artificial marble. The main altar features a large picture of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, which depicts the Mother of God with the moon under her feet. The lower part of the picture portrays a duel between angels and evil spirits.
The church is still used as the main parish Catholic church in Uherský Brod.
