Uherský Brod serves as the economic, social and cultural of the Uherský Brod region. Current centres of cultural life in the town include the J. A. Komenský Museum, which, besides permanent exhibitions, also offers a series of temporary exhibitions, lectures, performances and other attractions, and the Culture House, which is where the most important cultural and social events take place. The Culture House also runs the Observatory, organising specialised lectures, evening star-gazing sessions and other events. There is also the Baroque Mansion House Gallery, which holds exhibitions by Czech and Slovak artists, and the Máj Cinema. The town’s rich folk tradition is kept alive by ensembles such as Olšava, Oldšava, Holůbek and Rozmarýn, whose music, dance and brightly-coloured costumes liven up many a cultural event.

The Fašank town walk and the burial of the bass – this jolly and colourful fancy-dress procession, accompanied by beautiful songs and dances by local folk ensembles, is always a spectacular experience.
White Carpathian Festivities – June in Uherský Brod means the White Carpathian Festivities, which offer a wide range of social, cultural and sporting events for all ages.
Uherský Brod Region in Song and Dance – European Cultural Heritage Day – a traditional event held as part of European Cultural Heritage Day, when the town’s historical monuments and buildings are opened up to the public, including some that are not usually accessible. On the same day the Mansion House garden also hosts the Uherský Brod Region in Song and Dance, featuring folk troupes from the Uherský Brod region. It also includes a traditional fair.
BRODexpo – although the BRODexpo fair does not yet boast a long tradition, it is very popular and attracts a lot of visitors. For two days visitors have the chance to get to know local firms, what they do and the products they offer, and enjoy a lavish accompanying programme of events.
Rosary Pilgrimage – one event that attracts lots of visitors to the town every year is the Rosary Fair, an ecclesiastical celebration held in the Dominican church, featuring the folk costumes of the pilgrims of Brod. The town also hold a large fair, with fairground attractions and regional specialties.
St. Catherine’s Fair – a traditional folk crafts fair with a Christmas theme, accompanied by performances from folk troupes.
